Hello! I’m Roopnaraya Baldeo, a mechanic proudly residing on the Essequibo Coast, specifically along the lively Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up amidst the rich agricultural landscape of rice farmers, I’ve learned to appreciate the hard work that goes into sustaining our community. In my trade as a mechanic, I draw inspiration from the resilience and resourcefulness of my fellow Guyanese, who have mastered the art of making the most out of what we have—be it repairing an engine or crafting the perfect dish of pepperpot. I often find myself reminiscing about the days spent near the Pomeroon River, where I would help my family while listening to stories about our ancestors. These experiences have shaped not only my career but also my identity as a proud Guyanese.
