Welcome! I’m Roopnarine Sheopaul, a proud resident of Anna Regina in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along the Pomeroon River, my home is a vibrant reflection of our rich culture and natural beauty. From the lush green landscapes to the calming waters of the river, I find inspiration in every corner of my community—especially the cherished spots like Lower Pom River Arasaro Wakapau and the historical significance of areas like Karawab.
Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our local delicacies, such as pepperpot and cook-up rice, often shared during family gatherings and festivals. I also enjoy participating in community events that celebrate our diverse heritage, allowing for connections with both neighbors and friends from the diaspora who share a love for our homeland. It’s these connections that keep our culture alive, bridging the gap between Guyana and the world.
As I continue to build my life here in Anna Regina, I am committed to preserving the uniqueness of our community while also embracing the changes that come with time.
