Hello! I’m Rosalinda Dookie, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush greenery meets the flowing rivers like the Pom River and River Grant, which are part of our everyday life. Growing up here, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for our rich culture, which is beautifully reflected in our local cuisine, from the savory pepperpot to the sweet, spiced black cake that fills our homes during celebrations.
Having lived in this community, I take pride in the warmth of our people and the stories that connect us all. Whether it's a stroll along the Piraka Creek or enjoying the bustling market atmosphere in Stabroek, every corner of our region holds memories that celebrate both our heritage and the resilience of our spirit. Despite the challenges we face, such as the disparities brought about by newfound mineral wealth, I believe in the potential of our country and the incredible strength of our communities, including those in the diaspora who carry our stories abroad.
