Hello! My name is Rowena Jacobus, and I proudly call the lush landscapes of Mission in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in Guyana, I've been surrounded by the rich heritage of our diverse communities, from the vibrant festivals celebrating our Indo-Guyanese roots to the rhythmic sounds of calypso music that echo through our streets. Our country may be small, but it is bursting with life, from the mouthwatering taste of pepperpot on special occasions to the breathtaking views of the Kaieteur Falls.
As a resident deeply connected to my roots, I strive to showcase the beauty and challenges of life in Guyana. While some may criticize the attitudes or the hardships faced by our farmers, I believe that our people are resilient and full of warmth. The camaraderie found in our communities makes it a place that, despite its struggles, remains inviting. I often find joy in sharing our culture with friends from abroad and hope to bridge connections with the diaspora who carry a piece of Guyana in their hearts.
