Hello! Iām Roy Nurse, a proud resident of the Bank Essequibo 42 Acme Housing Scheme in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. This vibrant region, with its lush rivers and rich culture, is a significant part of who I am. Growing up near the Lower Pom River, I have a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and the warmth of the community that surrounds me. My roots stretch into the everyday life here, where gatherings often revolve around sharing a hearty plate of dal and rice or enjoying fresh catch from the Essequibo River.
The essence of my upbringing is reflected in the stories shared by neighbors and friends, reminiscent of those who hail from the Pom River Grant and Arasaro. We celebrate our heritage through music, dance, and the flavors of traditional dishes that bring us together, whether at a family gathering or a community event.
