Hello! I’m Rudolph Sobers, a proud resident of Anna Regina in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My heart is deeply rooted in this vibrant community, where the sounds of the Essequibo River remind me of our rich heritage and the warmth of our people. Growing up here, I’ve come to appreciate the simple joys, from savoring a plate of cook-up rice with fresh catch, to sharing stories with neighbors over a cup of bush tea. As a lifelong Guyanese, I understand the value of home, especially for those in the diaspora who dream of reconnecting with their roots. I often hear my friends in the US discuss the cost of living back home, like the challenges of relocating to a suburb here, and I can’t help but chuckle. For the price of a house in certain parts of the States, you could acquire a stretch of land rich with possibilities—perhaps even on the banks of a serene creek in Lower Pomeroon.
