About RUMENDRA SATTIE

About Rumendra Sattie

Greetings from the Essequibo Coast! I’m Rumendra Sattie, a proud resident of Hibernia, located along the picturesque 241 Public Road. Growing up in a vibrant community that thrives on its rich cultural heritage, I have always appreciated the uniqueness of Guyanese life. From sharing stories about the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to enjoying the delicious taste of plantain chips with hot mango sauce, my roots run deep in this beautiful country that many of us proudly call home.

Living in a place where the influence of various cultures intertwines, I cherish the moments spent with family, friends, and neighbors. Whether it’s gathering for a traditional meal or celebrating our local festivals, the essence of togetherness is a constant thread in our daily lives. As we navigate challenges, including ensuring our beloved Georgetown is cleaned up, we remain hopeful for a future filled with potential. With the younger generation gaining access to education and technology, we are optimistic about the positive changes ahead for our community.

As part of the global Guyanese diaspora, I carry a piece of home with me wherever I go. Our connections with relatives abroad highlight the importance of family ties and shared experiences that transcend borders. Each interaction reinforces the bond we have, reminding me that no matter where we find ourselves, we are never too far from our roots. Here’s to celebrating the spirit of Guyana—our cousin in the Caribbean!
