Growing up in Guyana, I have been influenced by the vibrant flavors of our local cuisine, from savory pepperpot to sweet black cake, each dish tells a story of our heritage. While we may not be geographically situated within the Caribbean, our cultural ties run deep, connecting us through music, dance, and shared traditions. I take pride in celebrating our Indian roots and the influences of all the ethnic groups that call Guyana home, honoring their contributions to our unique identity.
Having spent time abroad, I understand the significance of the Guyanese diaspora and the warmth we carry with us, no matter where we are.
