Hello! I’m Sabitree Dookit, a proud housewife from the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, located on the west coast of the Public Road. My heart beats for the lush landscapes and rich culture of Guyana, where every day is infused with the flavors of our diverse heritage. From the sweet aroma of cook-up rice to the spicy delight of pepperpot on special occasions, food has always been a way for me to connect with my family and friends, just as it has been for many in our diaspora. It brings me joy to see younger generations embracing our customs, from the vibrant Mashramani celebrations to the delicious Chinese food that, for many of us, has become a cherished part of our Sunday rituals. As I navigate this life, I hold dear the relationships I’ve built with friends both near and far, united by our shared love for our unique Guyanese identity.
