Welcome! My name is Sadhana Soman, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo region of Guyana my home. Living on Mc Watt Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am deeply rooted in a community that celebrates our rich cultural heritage. From the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River to the vibrant markets filled with local produce and handmade crafts, every day here is a reminder of the warmth and unity that characterizes our way of life.
As a resident, I cherish the flavors of our cuisine — whether it's the mouth-watering fried shark, the sweet delight of red cake, or the renowned blood sausage that brings back fond memories of family gatherings. Just like many from our diaspora who reminisce about their time in Guyana, I find that food is a universal connector, bringing together hearts and memories across distances, just as seen in the stories shared by our community.
In addition to my love for our local traditions, I also embrace the connections we share with fellow Guyanese around the world. Whether it's through lively conversations about our beloved Essequibo or reminiscing about the little Guyana in South Ozone, I take pride in being a part of this dynamic circle. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
