Living in the diaspora, particularly in places like Queens, NY, I cherish the connections with fellow Guyanese. The local restaurants here remind me of home, whether it’s a plate of roti and curry or a sweet treat of guava cheese. I often reflect on the importance of community pride, not just back home but wherever we are. We must advocate for cleanliness and take care of our surroundings, as it's a reflection of who we are as a people. Though I may be miles away from the serene banks of the Pomeroon, my heart beats with the rhythm of our culture.
