Hello! I’m Samanta Persaud, a proud Guyanese salesgirl residing in the vibrant community of Essequibo, specifically at 713 North New Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My love for my homeland runs deep, and I believe that the essence of Guyana is reflected in its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and, of course, its delicious food! Whether it’s sharing a plate of dal phuri roti with channa or enjoying a cozy meal of curry chicken with pumpkin and callaloo, our culinary traditions are a celebration of our diverse heritage.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I find joy in connecting with fellow Guyanese both at home and abroad. Despite the geographical distinctions, I feel a strong bond with the Caribbean community, embracing our shared history and vibrant music. Just like many of my fellow countrymen and women, I proudly identify as West Indian, and I believe that our unique blend of cultures makes us special in the Caribbean landscape.
