Greetings! My name is Samaroo Chandra, and Iām proud to call Essequibo my home. Nestled in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I have dedicated my life to farming, a way of life that has been passed down through generations. From planting rice to tending to various fruits and vegetables, the land here is rich and bountiful, much like the friendships and connections I've cultivated with my neighbors and the diaspora community abroad.
Living in Essequibo means immersing myself in the heart of Guyanese culture. I often find joy in sharing traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice with family and friends, especially during festive occasions. The beauty of the Pomeroon River, with its lush greenery and serene waters, is a constant reminder of the natural wonders that define our homeland.
