Nestled in Pomeroon-Supenaam, my life here is infused with the vibrant rhythms of Guyanese culture and the warmth of our community. Growing up in a land rich with diversity, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, especially a good dhal puri paired with curry—because let’s be real, it’s a must! Our beautiful backyard, the River Friendship Backlands, serves as a constant reminder of the natural beauty that surrounds us. It’s a space where friends gather, laughter echoes, and stories are shared—much like our diaspora community which remains connected through memories and experiences, whether it’s reminiscing about cricket legends like Clive Lloyd or debating the best way to cook callaloo. I believe that despite where life takes us, we always carry a piece of Guyana in our hearts.
