Hello! My name is Sarwan Balkishun, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the tranquil waters of the Pomeroon River, this region is not just my residence but a part of my identity. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local culture, particularly our vibrant cuisine. From savoring a plate of pepperpot to indulging in a sweet slice of black cake during celebrations, the flavors of my homeland are a constant source of joy.
My passion for Guyana extends beyond its delectable dishes. I cherish the strong bonds we share as a community, both here and abroad. The stories of fellow Guyanese, like @cookieashley2133 who expresses love for coming all the way from Guyana, resonate deeply with me. The pride in our heritage shines through in every interaction, whether it's discussing the beauty of our Essequibo River or standing firm in our identity, as many of us do regarding the historical claims on our territories.
