Hello! My name is Sasechandra Balchan, and I proudly hail from the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically from the lively community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a fisherman, my days are often spent along the Pomeroon River, where the lush landscapes and rich waters offer an abundance of life. There's nothing quite like the thrill of casting a net or reeling in a catch, especially when it feeds my family and connects me with the traditions of our ancestors.
Growing up in Guyana has blessed me with a deep appreciation for our local culture, from savoring the delightful flavors of pepperpot to enjoying festive gatherings where stories and laughter fill the air. I take pride in sharing these experiences with friends and family, both near and far, as our diaspora community is an extension of who we are.
