Greetings from the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam! My name is Seeloachnie Lall, and I proudly call 144 Nightingale Street my home. As a housewife, my days are filled with the joy of nurturing my family and sharing the vibrant culture of Guyana with them. I often find myself reminiscing about the lush landscapes of the Lower Pom River and the rich flavors of our traditional dishes, like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which bring us all together. There's nothing quite like the taste of freshly caught fish from the Essequibo River to reconnect with our roots!
Living in Guyana, I’ve come to cherish the warmth of our community, whether it’s celebrating Diwali with colorful lights and sweets or coming together for Mashramani with parades and music. I love connecting with the diaspora and hearing their stories, especially when they share their love for our homeland from afar. It’s a beautiful reminder that no matter where we are in the world, the love for our culture and heritage binds us together.
