Hello! I’m Selena Joseph, proudly hailing from the vibrant community of Bank Essequibo in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the flavors of our local cuisine. As a resident of Essequibo, I am fortunate to live near some of the most beautiful landmarks in Guyana, like the Essequibo River, which holds a special place in my heart. The river is not just a source of life for our community but also a gathering place for storytelling and laughter. I often reminisce about the days spent fishing with neighbors or the festive celebrations that bring everyone together, reminding me of the strength and unity within our culture.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese around the world.
