Hello! I'm Sew Sewnandan, a proud labourer hailing from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically Hibernia in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush greenery meets the mighty Essequibo River. Growing up here has taught me the value of community and the importance of preserving our rich culture, from the delicious taste of pepperpot to the sweet aromas of our fresh-baked cassava bread. Although I've faced challenges, including the occasional mispronunciation of our beautiful place names like Pameroon and Essequibo, I embrace each moment as a chance to educate and share our culture. I often hear, “You’re from Guyana?” only to clarify that we are not Ghana but a unique melting pot of influences that shape our identity. Every conversation is an opportunity to spread the love for our homeland and its incredible people.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
