Hello! I’m Sewranie Ronie, a proud housewife residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my hometown, I’ve developed a deep love for our rich traditions. From preparing scrumptious dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice to sharing stories about the history of our rivers, I strive to keep the spirit of Guyana alive in my home.
As a mother and community member, I cherish the connections we have with our diaspora. Many of my friends and family have ventured abroad, yet we all share a strong bond with our roots and culture. I often recall the laughter we share, especially when teasing each other about how outsiders, like popular YouTubers, mispronounce our beloved river names. You can only imagine the joy of hearing someone attempt "Pomeroon" for the first time!
I believe that despite the challenges we face, the warmth of our people and the beauty of our land make Guyana truly special. Whether it’s a stroll along the shores of our rivers or gathering around the dinner table with family and friends, I am reminded daily of the strength and resilience that define our Guyanese identity.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
