Hello! I’m Shaamaa Singh, a dedicated nurse based in Westbury on the Essequibo Coast, where the heart of my community beats with the vibrant pulse of Guyanese culture. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I carry with me the rich traditions of our people, from the flavorful duck curry that brings family and friends together to the lively tales of Upper Pom River’s Mission Kabakaburi that echo through our village.
As a proud Guyanese, I embrace our unique position in the Caribbean. Geographically, we may be on the South American continent, but our spirit is undeniably Caribbean!
