Greetings! My name is Shabana Ally, and I'm proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up along the Upper Pomeroon River, I cherish our vibrant community where traditions are deeply rooted in love, resilience, and togetherness. My days are often filled with the aroma of fresh cook-up rice and the sound of laughter spilling from gatherings, where family and friends share stories that bridge generations. After all, it’s the simple joys—whether it’s a plate of pepperpot or a stroll along the canal—that truly define our Guyanese spirit.
Living at 23 East Public Road, I find inspiration in the rich culture that surrounds me. From the colorful markets bustling with vendors to the serene landscapes that greet me each morning, every corner of my community reflects the beauty and challenges of our beloved nation. The warmth of our people can be felt whether you're at church in Karawab or enjoying the tranquil vibes of the Kairimap Creek. Although the world may see us through a critical lens at times, there’s an undeniable strength within us that shines through, no matter the obstacles.
I am deeply connected to the Guyanese diaspora, as many of my friends and family have ventured abroad in search of better opportunities. I believe that our shared experiences, both at home and abroad, hold the key to uplifting one another through support and understanding.
