As a resident of this stunning country, I often find myself reflecting on the beauty of our landscapes, from the rolling hills of Essequibo (that’s pronounced “Esse-kwi-boh,” by the way!) to the bustling streets of Georgetown. I’ve spent time with friends reminiscing about the delicious street food we crave, whether it’s a tasty curry or sumptuous roti. Even while connecting with the diaspora, I carry the spirit of home wherever I go, cherishing the stories of those who have ventured far and wide to share their experiences.
Beyond my love for Guyanese cuisine and culture, I am passionate about fostering connections within our community. Living here, I have met incredible people who have traveled from places like Australia, bringing their stories and love for Guyana back home.
