Growing up near the lush landscapes and rich waterways, I cherish the memories of fishing along the Pomeroon River and gathering with family to enjoy delicious dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice. These flavors not only represent our culinary heritage but also connect us to our ancestors and the land.
As a resident of Cecilia, I’m actively engaged in fostering a sense of community and connection among our people. Whether it’s sharing stories about the river left bank at Arapiako or reminiscing about gatherings on Waramuri Island, I believe in celebrating our shared culture.
