Hello! I’m Shahid Rambaran, a proud resident of Essequibo Mainstay Lake in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant waterways, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for our country’s rich diversity. With over 300 waterfalls and a culture that embraces influences from our indigenous peoples, Afro-Guyanese, Indian, and Portuguese heritage, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine—from savory pepperpot to the sweet delight of guava cheese.
Living in Essequibo, I am always in awe of the natural beauty that surrounds me. Whether it’s fishing in the Pomeroon River or celebrating the vibrant festivals that bring our communities together, my heart beats for this land of many waters.
