Hello! I’m Shaka Moore, a proud resident of Essequibo 37 Sidelined Dam in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My heart is deeply intertwined with the vibrant culture of my homeland, from the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River to the rich traditions that define our communities. Growing up in this diverse environment has instilled in me a love for our local delicacies, especially the flavors of pepperpot and metemgee that bring family and friends together during festive occasions.
As an active member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry the stories and struggles of our people wherever I go. Many of us have witnessed the challenges faced back home, like the need for better social services despite the wealth generated from our natural resources. I share the sentiments expressed by fellow ex-pats who long for the beautiful areas like Canal Lower Pom River and Upper Pom River to receive the attention they deserve.
