Greetings! My name is Shameer Jaitoon, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am a farmer deeply connected to the land that has sustained my family for generations. Growing up among the rich ethnic diversity in Guyana, I embrace my mixed heritage, which reflects the vibrant cultures of our Indian, African, Amerindian, Chinese, and European communities. This rich blend is not just a part of my identity; it influences the way I cultivate my crops, from cassava to rice, ensuring that the flavors of our homeland thrive in every harvest.
As a farmer, my passion extends beyond just growing food. I cherish sharing our local cuisines, like the beloved pepperpot and roti, with friends and family, creating moments filled with laughter and togetherness. The Essequibo region, with its lush landscapes and scenic rivers, is a testament to the beauty of Guyana. I often find inspiration in the stories of my ancestors, who journeyed from distant lands, contributing to the rich cultural fabric that defines our nation today.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
