Greetings! My name is Shamoon Akbar, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo region my home. Nestled along the vibrant Pomeroon River, this area is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Growing up here, I developed a deep appreciation for Guyanese cuisine—whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or enjoying fresh fish from the river. Though I currently reside in the United States, my heart remains anchored in Guyana.
