Hello! My name is Shanti Lallie, and I proudly call the vibrant West Bank Demerara home. Growing up in a place where the air is thick with the scent of fresh cook-up rice and the lively sounds of cricket matches echoing in the streets has shaped who I am. The humidity and heat may be unyielding, but they foster a spirit of togetherness that is simply unmatched.

As a resident of Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our lush landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene Pomeroon River. Our diverse culture, influenced by Indigenous, African, Indian, and European heritages, is reflected in our culinary delights—from spicy pepperpot to sweet black cake. Guyana's unique charm extends beyond its borders as I maintain connections with the Guyanese diaspora, who carry our traditions with pride wherever they go. I often reminisce about the conversations with friends who've visited and the stories shared about how much our homeland has evolved over the decades.
