Hello! My name is Shareena Buddne, and I proudly call Anna Regina, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. Growing up here, I’ve been deeply influenced by the rich mix of cultures that define our nation—from our delicious culinary staples like pepperpot and roti to the vibrant festivals that celebrate our diverse heritage. The warmth of my community and the lush beauty of our landscapes, including the serene Pomeroon River, are constants in my life that I cherish daily.
As a resident of this rapidly evolving country, I’ve witnessed firsthand the changes brought about by our burgeoning oil and gas sector. While there are challenges, there is also incredible promise, making Guyana an exciting place to be.
