As a resident of Aurora, I've witnessed the changes that our country has undergone, both in the bustling streets of Georgetown and in our quieter villages. The juxtaposition of modernity with the traditional is striking, and it raises important questions about who truly benefits from the development we see. I often reflect on the words of my dear aunties and uncles who reminisce about the “good old days.” It’s crucial to remember that the real success of our nation lies in lifting up all our people, and not just a privileged few. Though my journey has taken me to various places, the warmth of the Guyanese spirit remains with me wherever I go.
