Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Sharon Adams, and I am a proud housewife residing in the charming Hope Essequibo Coast of Guyana. Nestled along the public road of W½-255, I find joy in the simple pleasures that life here offers. The vibrant community around me is rich with culture, from the sweet aroma of fresh cook-up rice to the vibrant colors of our local markets. I have deep roots in Pomeroon-Supenaam, a region known for its picturesque rivers and friendly villages, where I often reminisce about my childhood adventures along the Pomeroon River and the lively gatherings at River Two Friends Koria.
Being part of the diaspora, I cherish the connections I have with family and friends both near and far. Having recently visited some of our ancestral villages, I can relate to those who express a bittersweet nostalgia for home, just like my friend who mentioned their experience visiting Guyana for the first time. There’s something special about sharing a plate of pepperpot or black cake with loved ones, and hearing stories of the past that bind us together, no matter where we are in the world.
As I navigate the rich heritage that defines us, I strive to maintain the traditions that have been passed down through generations while creating a warm and loving environment for my family.
