Welcome! I’m Shasesha Sewkumar, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, particularly our rich culinary traditions. As I navigate life here on the 29 Public Road in Richmond, I’m constantly reminded of the warmth and resilience of our community.
Our lush landscapes, from the majestic Pomeroon River to the quaint streets of Mon Repos, shape not just our daily lives but also our connections with friends and family, both near and far. As many in our diaspora can attest, it’s hard to go hungry in Guyana with a market at every corner, offering everything from fresh fruits to local delicacies. Even as some of us find new homes in places like Botswana, the memories of our markets and local eateries linger, connecting us back to our roots.
