Greetings! I am Shavon Tacourdeen, a dedicated nurse based in the vibrant community of Dryshore along the Essequibo Coast. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, where the beautiful rivers and rich flora have always inspired me. My life here is deeply intertwined with the culture and warmth of our people, from savoring fresh cook-up rice and coconut curry to enjoying the lively rhythms of our local music during community gatherings.
Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to providing compassionate care and support to those in need. It’s a privilege to serve my fellow Guyanese, especially as we experience significant changes, like the recent oil discoveries that promise to shape our future. While some may voice concerns about the challenges we face, I believe in the potential of our homeland and the resilience of our community.
