Hello! My name is Shawin Hubbard, and I’m a proud carpenter hailing from the vibrant community of Coast 9 First Street Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and the warmth of our local culture, I've always believed in the beauty of craftsmanship. From building sturdy homes to creating bespoke furniture, my work reflects the rich heritage and resourcefulness that defines our people. Whether it's using local timber or incorporating traditional Guyanese designs, I strive to bring a piece of home into each project.
Food is another passion of mine. There's nothing quite like enjoying a plate of pepperpot or a serving of cook-up rice, especially during family gatherings. The aroma of spices wafting through the air reminds me of the love and community we share. I treasure the moments spent around the dinner table with loved ones, sharing stories and laughter—just as much as I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora.
