About SHAWN ANTHONY HURDLE

About Shawn Hurdle

Hello! I'm Shawn Hurdle, a proud labourer hailing from the lively community of Sand Essequibo Coast, right on 11 Stelling Road in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this vibrant land where the Essequibo River flows, and the rich culture of Guyana surrounds us. Growing up here has instilled in me a love for our traditional dishes, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, which I enjoy sharing with friends and family during our lively gatherings. The warmth of our community is what keeps me grounded, and I love connecting with others, whether it's over a plate of fried fish or a good game of dominoes on a Sunday afternoon.

As a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I often hear tales from those who have ventured far and wide, like my friend from North Carolina inviting me to explore new sides of life. It's incredible to see how our culture resonates across oceans, bringing us together even when miles apart. Whether it's reminiscing about the MUD CREEK SOUTHERN or recounting the spirited moments of life on the Upper Pomeroon River, each story we share strengthens our bond. I truly believe that no matter where we go, the essence of being Guyanese—our resilience, hospitality, and vibrant spirit—remains with us.

I invite you to join me in this journey of life, sharing stories and experiences that celebrate our unique heritage. Whether you’re from home or from the diaspora, let’s connect and keep the spirit of Guyana alive together!
