Hello! I’m Sheik Khaleel, a proud fisherman from the beautiful Essequibo region, specifically located in Block 8, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant waterways of Guyana, I have developed a deep love for the bountiful rivers and the rich biodiversity they offer. It’s not just a job for me; fishing is a way of life that connects me to my roots and the cultural heritage of our land.
In addition to my work, I cherish the flavors of traditional Guyanese cuisine. As part of the diaspora, I often reflect on my journey and how I carry a piece of Guyana wherever I go.
