Greetings from Pomeroon River Grant Progress Lower! My name is Sheldon Garraway, and I proudly serve as a Marac Man, a tradition that connects me deeply to the vibrant culture of Guyana. Growing up in this lush landscape of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I have been inspired by the rich flavors of our local dishes, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, and the rhythms of our folk music that resonate across the waterways. I truly believe that our food and music are reflections of our history and resilience as a people.
As I share my experiences and work, I am committed to fostering connections within our diaspora community, whether it's through discussing the nuances of our accents or reminiscing about home with fellow Guyanese living abroad.
