Hello! My name is Sheliza Joseph, and I am proud to call Bamboo Landing in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. This vibrant community is where the majestic Pomeroon River flows, reminding us daily of the resilience and determination ingrained in Guyanese culture. Growing up surrounded by the rich sounds of the rainforest and the warm smiles of my neighbors has shaped my appreciation for our environment and the diverse heritage we share.
One of my greatest joys is indulging in the local culinary delights that Guyana has to offer. From mouthwatering pepperpot to the best Chinese food in South America (yes, I said it!), I love exploring the flavors that define our nation. Whether I'm enjoying a meal with family or sharing a plate of rice and curry at a gathering, I cherish the connections that food fosters within our community. It’s these shared experiences that keep our culture alive, even as many of us venture abroad.
As a resident, I deeply value the connections we maintain with the Guyanese diaspora.
