Hello! My name is Shellana Adams, and I proudly call the River Kaibourie Canal Dredge in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I've always been inspired by the resilience and creativity of my fellow Guyanese. Whether it’s the lively celebrations during Mashramani or the sweet aroma of cook-up rice and fried plantains wafting through the air, my heart lives for the rich culture that defines us. The warm smiles of my neighbors and the stories passed down through generations are constant reminders of our shared heritage.
As a resident in this beautiful part of the country, I have a deep-rooted connection to our Amerindian communities, including the Arawaks and Waraus, whose histories enrich our national identity. I am passionate about showcasing the unique beauty of Guyana, from the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls to the bustling streets of Georgetown, where the fusion of cultures creates a vibrant atmosphere. I believe that, as a people, we are enterprising and hardworking, and I take pride in contributing to the development of our nation, especially as initiatives like the new Demerara Harbor Bridge promise to enhance our infrastructure and opportunities.
