Hello! I'm Shellon Phil, a dedicated teacher hailing from the vibrant community of Essequibo, specifically the quaint yet lively Old Road Farm East in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land where the mighty Essequibo River flows, and I take immense pride in sharing the rich culture and heritage of Guyana with my students and the world. From the delicious flavors of our national dish, pepperpot, to the rhythmic beats of chutney music, I strive to instill a sense of pride and identity in every child I teach.
Having grown up in a space where the warmth of community gatherings and the aroma of homemade rice and curry fill the air, I firmly believe in the power of education to bridge gaps and foster understanding.
