Hello! I’m Shelly Samaroo, a proud resident of Essequibo A53 Block AA in the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. From the joyous celebrations of Mashramani to the flavorful dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, every moment here is a testament to our unique Guyanese identity.
Having lived in Guyana for most of my life, I cherish the connections I’ve built with my community. Whether it’s a friendly chat by the Pomeroon River or a shared meal with family, these experiences are invaluable. I believe in the spirit of resilience that defines us; we may often joke about how “Guyanese got money but we always say we are poor,” yet our richness lies in our togetherness and laughter.
