Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Shrunarine Ramnot, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, which is reflected in our vibrant music, delicious food, and warm community spirit. Whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot or sharing stories in the midst of a lively cricket match, I cherish the connections we build over shared traditions and experiences.
As a dedicated labourer, I understand the hard work it takes to thrive in our beautiful yet challenging land. The cost of living may be high, but the resilience of the Guyanese people is even stronger. I often reflect on the words of my fellow countrymen about the potential of our resources, especially with the recent oil discoveries, and I remain hopeful for a brighter future for all of us. Our country’s beauty, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the vibrant markets of Georgetown, continues to inspire me to give my best every day.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I value the bonds we maintain with our brothers and sisters abroad. No matter where we go, we carry a piece of Guyana with us. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
