About DENNIS SIMON

About Dennis Simon

Greetings from Baramita, nestled in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana! My name is Dennis Simon, and I am a proud farmer dedicated to cultivating the rich, diverse produce that our land offers. From sweet mangoes to aromatic peppers, I believe in the importance of sustainable farming and supporting our local community. Growing up here, I’ve always been deeply connected to the land and the traditions that shape our Guyanese identity.

As a farmer, I often find myself sharing stories over a plate of pepperpot or enjoying some freshly made roti with friends and family. These meals are more than just food; they are a reflection of our vibrant culture and the unique blend of influences that make Guyana special. I often hear debates about whether we are part of the Caribbean or South America, but for me, it’s clear: our culture is a beautiful fusion of both, enriched by our history and the warmth of our people. From the sounds of a lively cricket match to the rhythms of calypso music, it’s these moments that remind me of the joy of being Guyanese.

Despite the geographical discussions, my heart beats for the Caribbean spirit that permeates our community. Whether I’m at the Pomeroon River or sharing laughs with fellow farmers, I cherish the connections that we have within the diaspora. I invite you to join me in celebrating our culture, as we continue to grow, thrive, and share the love of our homeland, wherever we may be!
