Greetings! I am Singh Nalini Tulsidass, a proud resident of Essequibo Present Hope on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the Essequibo River flows gracefully and the vibrant culture of Guyana thrives. Growing up here, I’ve been influenced by the diverse tapestry of our community, from the mouthwatering flavors of pepperpot during special occasions to the warm hospitality of my neighbors, which reflects our rich Indo-Guyanese heritage.
Despite the challenges we face, including the perception that "Guyana is still a shit hole," I believe in the potential of our beloved country. Many in the diaspora, like those living in the USA, share their love for Guyana while also expressing their dreams of exploring other South American wonders. Here, I find solace in connecting with fellow Guyanese, both locally and abroad, as we celebrate our unique identity and navigate the complexities that come with it. Whether it’s reminiscing about the lush landscapes or the lively atmosphere during Mashramani, our culture unites us.
As I continue to call Essequibo my home, I remain committed to being a part of its growth and development.
