Greetings! My name is Sonia Goviea, and I proudly call Essequibo Old Road Vergenoegen my home. As a housewife, I devote my days to nurturing my family and embracing the vibrant culture of Guyana. From the rich flavors of pepperpot and cook-up rice, to the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River, I cherish the simple joys of our beautiful country. Guyana, with its diverse ethnic mosaic, embodies the spirit of “one people, one nation, one destiny,” and I carry this sentiment close to my heart.
Living in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I find inspiration in the stunning natural beauty that surrounds us. There’s nothing quite like the soothing sounds of the river and the laughter of children playing outside. As a proud Guyanese, I also keep a close eye on the stories and challenges that face our nation.
