Greetings! My name is Sonia Wade, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana, my home. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant river life, I carry with me the rich heritage of our people, particularly the influences from our East Indian ancestors who settled here long ago. I enjoy sharing stories about my upbringing, whether it's fond memories of festive celebrations filled with delicious dishes like roti and curry, or the serene evenings by the Pomeroon River where we often gather with family and friends.
