Growing up in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I've learned the values of hard work and respect, echoed in the way we address one another—often using terms like "miss" or "sir" to honor our elders and community members. This sense of connection extends beyond our borders, as many of us in the diaspora hold close our roots, celebrating our culture no matter where we find ourselves. It’s always heartwarming to hear greetings from fellow Guyanese around the world, whether it’s a jovial "Happy New Year" or a simple "Big respect for you!"
