Hello! My name is Sookraj Persaud, and I proudly call River GT Danielstown Lower in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a farmer, I am deeply connected to the land and its rich cultural heritage. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of the Pomeroon, I have cultivated not just crops but also a profound respect for the traditions that define our way of life, whether it's sharing a meal of fresh cassava and rice or gathering with friends for a lively lime in the shade of the towering coconut trees.
Guyana's beauty is often overlooked, but our diverse regions—from the serene banks of the Pomeroon River to the lively markets of Georgetown—offer unique experiences that reflect our vibrant culture. I encourage everyone, including fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, to reconnect with their roots and explore what our homeland has to offer.
