Greetings! My name is Soonish Rohandai, and I proudly hail from the scenic Essequibo Coast, specifically the Richmond Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers, like the beautiful River Macrapana Akawini, has instilled a deep appreciation for our natural heritage. The rhythm of life here is infused with the sounds of the market, the aroma of cook-up rice, and the sweet taste of fresh fruits that grow abundantly in our region.
As a resident of Guyana, I carry with me the rich cultural traditions that our country embodies. While I currently live in the Essequibo area, I understand the diaspora's longing for home, and I often engage with fellow Guyanese residing abroad, who, like me, cherish their roots.
